Putting the good into Good Friday as we launch on DAB
People across Dorset will be able to enjoy a new type of radio station from Good Friday. Dorset Coast Radio, a brand-new DAB local radio station, dedicated to serving the vibrant and diverse communities of Dorset, goes on air and online this week. The station offers a fresh and dynamic range of programming that caters to the interests and needs of local residents and celebrates the local Dorset community.
Dorset Coast Radio will be a vital part of the community, providing a platform for local voices, music, news, and stories. It will connect people and provide entertainment news and useful information, as well as showcasing the amazing work of local community groups.
The official launch at 7am on Good Friday marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for community radio in Dorset. Local people are being encouraged to tune in to experience a broad mix of music from the last fifty years, with an emphasis on music from the 1980s to recent hits in the 2020's plus much more:
- Local news and events: helping people stay up-to-date with the latest happenings in the area.
- Talk shows: sharing updates directly from people and organisations in our local community.
Station Manager, Andy Marlor says
“We’re also inviting local community groups to get involved and share information about what they do and how they help local people. We have a dedicated show each weeknight from 7pm to showcase the best of our community across Dorset”.
People who tune in from Good Friday also have the chance to win a DAB radio.
Andy concludes
“Don't miss the launch of Dorset Coast Radio on Good Friday. We’d love lots of people to tune in to be part of our exciting new journey and experience the best of what Dorset has to offer. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community through the power of radio”.
